Definition of Led Monitor:

In today's world, led displays are every were. LED stands for Light Emitting Diode. It is an electronic display that uses an array of light-emitting diodes to produce images, videos, and texts. It is a semiconductor device that emits light when an electric current flows through it. The intensity of the light emitted can be controlled to create various colors, brightness levels, and patterns, allowing LED displays to display a wide range of content with high contrast, brightness, and sharpness. A) Where do we use LED displays? 

Modern electronic devices such as mobile phones, TVs, tablets, computer monitors, laptop screens, etc., use a LED display to display their output.


B) History of LED display:

👉 In 1907, LED (Light Emitting Diode) technology was first discovered by Henry Joseph Round, a British Scientist. He observed light emission from a silicon carbide crystal from a voltage. 

👉 In the 1960s, Nick Holonyak, Jr. (the “Father of the Light-Emitting Diode”) invented the first practical LED that produced visible, red light while working at General Electric.

👉 In 1960, the first LED display was developed by James R. Biard and Gary Pittam at Texas Instruments. The display consisted of a single red LED.

👉 In 1970, LED displays were also used in scoreboards and signage, particularly for outdoor advertising.

Led monitor work using a backlight of light-emitting diodes to illuminate the liquid crystal display panel. The LCD panel comprises millions of tiny pixels that can be individually controlled to allow or block the backlight, creating the images we see on the screen.

It allows for slimmer designs, uses fewer LEDs, and can reduce the cost of a new screen. But the disadvantage is that these displays are less bright than other LED displays.

👉 Direct-lit LED displays:

👉 Full-array LED monitors:

It is similar to a direct-lit led monitor. A Full-Array LED display uses a grid of LED lights behind the LCD. It allows greater control over brightness and contrast. Full-array LED monitors are typically thicker and heavier but provide superior image quality compared to other LED monitor types.

👉 RGB LED monitor:

In this type of led monitor, each pixel comprises red, green, and blue sub-pixels individually lit by RGB LEDs. Its color combination creates a pure white, providing more precise and accurate colors across the spectrum. The display uses advanced electronics and programming to control the RGB LEDs accurately. RGB array is good but can be expensive and complex to manufacture.

OLED stands for Organic Light-Emitting Diodes. Led advanced technology is OLED monitors. It uses organic compounds to emit light. It has superior contrast, brightness, and color accuracy compared to traditional LED monitors. This type of monitor is costly. It's used in professional applications such as video editing and color grading.
